June 29 – According to reputable source The Athletic (TA), Chelsea have officially lodged a bid for midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City.
If an agreement is reached between the clubs, Chelsea are expected to sign Dewsbury-Hall on a long-term contract. It’s understood that he has turned down a move to Brighton and is anticipated to only join Chelsea or remain at Leicester, where his contract runs until 2027.
Dewsbury-Hall is regarded as an ideal fit for the style of football that new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca aims to play, who took over from Pochettino earlier this summer.
The 25-year-old English central midfielder started 41 of 46 league games last season for Leicester, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists as the team secured promotion back to the top flight. He is currently valued at €30 million.
Chelsea’s pursuit of Dewsbury-Hall mirrors their move for Jorginho when Maurizio Sarri joined the club, with both managers looking to reunite with their former proteges in their new setups.
