In a recent interview, Romania’s head coach Iordănescu remarked that the current Romanian team is more united than ever before, a rarity in the country’s football history.
“I believe that in the entire history of football, even during our golden generation, the national team has never received such strong support. Romania has found its spirit and we must not lose it,” Iordănescu declared. Recently, large parts of Germany have been flooded with a sea of yellow as Romanian fans have traveled far and wide to back their team.
Romania has had an impressive run in the tournament, advancing from the group stage with one win, one draw, and one loss, and is now set to face the Netherlands for a spot in the quarterfinals.
