July 6 – According to an official announcement by La Liga club Palma CF, Japanese international forward Takuma Asano has joined the team on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old Asano previously played for Bundesliga side VfL Bochum, which was relegated at the end of last season. Asano became a free agent following the conclusion of his contract. His current market value, as listed by Transfermarkt, is €4 million.
In 2022, Asano represented Japan in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and in January 2024, he was named in the Japanese national men’s football team squad for the 2023 Asia Cup. Throughout his international career, he has made 52 appearances for Japan, scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists.
