Bellingham: Best performance yet in this tournament, hoping for Spain in the final

English midfielder Jude Bellingham has led his team into the semi-finals of the Euros. Despite a hard-fought victory over Switzerland that went to penalties, England is now just one step away from the final, potentially facing Spain.

In an interview with Spanish media, Bellingham expressed his desire in Spanish: “I hope we meet Spain in the final. They have played very well in the last three weeks, so anything is possible. But my focus is on England, my teammates, and my team.”

He also praised his goalkeeper Pickford, who became a hero in the penalty shootout, saving Akanji’s spot-kick. Bellingham said, “I’m delighted tonight. Pickford was brilliant; he’s very experienced in situations like these.”

Bellingham believes that their quarter-final match against Switzerland was their “best game” in the 2024 Euros. He emphasized his pride in his teammates’ performances and the importance of cherishing such moments, as they are crucial to lifting the trophy.

In his interview, Bellingham commented, “This might have been our best performance in this tournament. We’re very proud. We showed great character. We proved that again in the penalties. The substitutes stepping up and taking those kicks under huge pressure, it was special.”
