On July 6th, according to Turkish journalist Sabuncuoglu, Fenerbahçe is planning to sign Allan Saint-Maximin, who has been in Saudi Arabia for less than a year.
Last summer, Saint-Maximin left Newcastle United to join Al-Nassr FC in the Saudi Professional League on a three-year deal. The club boasts a strong squad that includes players like Mahrez, Firmino, and Mendy, but they finished third in the previous season.
As reported by Sabuncuoglu, Fenerbahçe is closely monitoring Saint-Maximin’s situation. At only 27 years old and having been away from Europe for less than 12 months, he could soon return to continue his career on the continent.
It’s worth noting that last season, Saint-Maximin made 31 appearances for Al-Nassr, all as a starter, contributing four goals and nine assists.
While it’s unclear at this stage if Saint-Maximin personally desires a move, the allure of new Fenerbahçe manager Mourinho might be a decisive factor in this potential transfer.
