Kuwait Manager Rui Bento Steps Down, Becomes First Coach to Leave Post in Qualifiers

According to the official announcement from the Kuwait Football Association, Kuwait’s head coach Rui Bento has resigned.

Rui Bento, aged 52, previously managed clubs such as Académica de Coimbra, Barreirense, Penafiel, Boavista, Belenenses, Bangkok United, and Tongdria. He took charge of the Kuwait national team in August 2022 and successfully led them through the previous round of qualifiers. The Kuwait FA expressed its full gratitude to Bento for his service.

In the current round of 18, Kuwait is placed in Group B alongside South Korea, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, and Palestine.
