Brazil coach: Endrick to start against Uruguay as he’s on the rise

On July 7 at 9 a.m., the quarterfinal showdown in the Copa América sees Brazil face Uruguay. Ahead of the match, Brazil’s head coach Dourival attended a press conference, revealing that Endrick will replace Vinicius, who is suspended due to yellow card accumulation, in the starting lineup.

Dourival commented, “We have lost an important player (Vinicius’ suspension), but we gain one who is rising and seeking his opportunity. Who knows, maybe this is Endrick’s moment.”

“People don’t see Endrick as a pure number nine; he plays fixed positions, he prefers the central areas. He’s a floating, mobile player. Honestly, in my previous team, I always had a center forward, but I must respect his characteristics.”

Endrick has previously made nine appearances for the Brazilian national team, all as a substitute, and this match will mark his first start.
