On July 15th, Manchester United officially announced that the team’s defender, Kambwara, has left and formally joined the Spanish La Liga side, Villarreal.
According to previous reports by Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee for this deal is approximately €10 million, including a future buy-back clause in favor of Manchester United.
Official Statement:
Manchester United defender, Willi Kambwara, has agreed to a permanent transfer to Villarreal, bringing to an end his nearly four-year spell at Old Trafford.
The defender, loved for his passion and intensity in fierce battles, departs after making ten appearances for the first team.
His final game of the season was in the league match against Arsenal in May, and he was also named in the squad for last season’s FA Cup victory over Manchester City.
