July 16 – Vasco da Gama announced via their social media that former Jiangsu Suning foreign aid, Teixeira, has returned to the team and will represent the club in the Brazilian Serie A in the new season, joining forces with new signing Coutinho.
Teixeira’s professional career started in Brazil’s youth training system. Later, he joined the Vasco da Gama youth team in Brazil, where he showcased his talent and attacking prowess. In 2016, Teixeira transferred to Jiangsu Suning of the Chinese Super League and became one of the key figures in the team’s attack. During his time at Suning, he contributed 73 goals and 43 assists.
The 34-year-old Teixeira played for Vasco da Gama last season, scoring only 6 goals in 50 games and providing 5 assists, with a current market value of 500,000 Euros according to Transfermarkt. Earlier this year, he was close to joining Chinese second-tier side Yunnan Yukuang but the transfer ultimately fell through.
