On July 17th, according to German media outlet Bild, Atlético Madrid is currently the team with the best chance of signing Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City have all had varying degrees of contact with the player or his agent, but the likelihood of a transfer is low.

It’s understood that the release clause in Olmo’s contract with RB Leipzig will expire this Saturday. Prior to this date, other clubs can take him away from Red Bull by paying €60 million. Atlético Madrid from Spain is taking this transfer seriously and has already begun preliminary discussions. Reports indicate that Olmo wishes to move to a club where he can win titles. On the other hand, Olmo also wants to return to Spain. Considering that there has been no further progress from other clubs previously rumored to be interested, Atlético Madrid has become the most likely team to sign this Euro champion and top scorer.

Barcelona had privately contacted Olmo previously, but due to their inability to pay the €60 million release clause, it is unlikely they will sign the player; Bayern Munich also inquired about Olmo, but they are more interested in signing his teammate Xavi Simons; Manchester City is also a potential destination for Olmo, as they hope he can become their new creative hub and successor to Kevin De Bruyne, who will depart the team in June 2025.
