Official Announcement | Dai Weijun Completes Signing with Shenzhen New PengchengAfter reaching a mutual agreement with Shanghai Shenhua Football Club and the player himself, Shenzhen New Pengcheng Football Club announces the completion of signing with Dai Weijun, who will join the team on loan for a period of six months. He will wear the number 23 jersey to compete in the Chinese Super League, FA Cup, and other events. Dai Weijun was born on July 25, 1999, in Hong Kong, China, standing at 175cm tall, playing as a midfielder. Dai Weijun began his youth training at Eastern Sports Club in Hong Kong, joined the Reading Youth Academy in England at the age of 11, and made his professional debut and scored his first goal at the English League One club Bury at 18. He subsequently honed his skills at European clubs such as Oxford United, Utrecht in the Netherlands, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. In July 2020, Dai Weijun joined Shenzhen FC, where he played a total of 60 matches in the Chinese Super League and FA Cup during his tenure, scoring 6 goals and providing 13 assists. In June 2023, Dai Weijun joined Shanghai Shenhua, making 29 appearances in various competitions and helping the team win the Chinese FA Cup and the Super Cup. On the national team front, he made his debut for the Chinese national team in January 2022.
