On July 14, the Copa America final will take place tomorrow morning at 8 AM. Ahead of the game, Argentine player Big Martinez expressed sympathy regarding the post-match clashes that erupted after the semi-final between Uruguay and Colombia.
Big Martinez stated, “It’s truly saddening to see such things happen. I wouldn’t encourage my teammates to act this way, but when you witness your children and wife in danger, it’s a natural response.”
“What happened to Núñez and Oliveira was quite normal, and I fully agree with their perspective. I stand by the Uruguayan players.”
Martinez also added that he hopes Sunday’s final receives adequate security coverage.
“We need to be more vigilant on Sunday, especially during the final when people tend to drink more alcohol. We must enhance security measures to improve the atmosphere among fans. Regardless of who wins or loses, we should celebrate that both teams made it to the final.”
