Due to left winger Rodrigo Riquelme’s poor physical condition leading to consecutive absences from training, Atlético’s lineup for the new season may experience an unexpected turn. Coach Simeone has been emphasizing offensive coordination in recent training sessions, providing Félix with the opportunity to showcase his abilities. Marca reports that Atlético focused on practicing an attacking combination of Griezmann, Correa, and Félix, with all three participating in the full range of offensive plays during training.

Despite ongoing transfer rumors, Félix has diligently completed all training content like his teammates. Simeone appears to place significant importance on the new tactics, refining a 5-4-1 formation that transforms into a 5-2-3 when attacking, with the attacking burden falling on the trident of Griezmann, Correa, and Félix.

Furthermore, Atlético’s defensive system has been further strengthened, with Cerrano and captain Koke playing in the holding midfield positions, and Vermaelen occupying the right center-back spot. Although players such as Llorente, Giménez, and Molina have yet to return, Simeone has already outlined a defensive lineup comprising Llorente, Azpilicueta, Vitolo, Costa, and Lino.
