Mail: Branthwaite Willing to Sign New Deal but Demands Wage Matched by Everton to That Offered by Man Utd

The Daily Mail reports that after having two bids rejected by Everton, Branthwaite is demanding that Everton match the wages offered by Manchester United, or else renewal talks will not proceed.

Everton are holding out for £70 million for Branthwaite and have turned down two bids from Manchester United, with their most recent offer being £50 million.

The 22-year-old has three years left on his contract at Everton and currently earns a weekly wage of £70,000. However, Manchester United has offered him a contract worth £160,000 per week, more than double what he is currently earning.

The Daily Mail understands that Branthwaite is considering signing a new deal with Everton, but only if they also offer him a new contract matching the £160,000 weekly wage.

After having two bids for Branthwaite rejected, Manchester United signed 18-year-old Lenny Jolo for £52 million. However, according to their plans for the whole summer, they still hope to bring in another central defender, as well as a full-back, midfielder, and forward, with the exact number depending on spending.
