Korean Media: Over Two Million Fans Have Attended K League Games This Season

According to Korean media, as of July 21, over two million fans have attended games in the K League this season.

The K1 and K2 leagues attracted a total of 2,022,026 spectators last season, making it the least-attended season since the introduction of promotion and relegation in the professional football league of Korea.

This season, the K League has surpassed the two million mark in attendance with over 40 fewer matches than it took to achieve that record last season, across 282 matches (144 in K1 and 138 in K2). It has broken the historical record for the fewest number of games required to reach two million attendees in a single season.

Additionally, at the conclusion of Round 24 of the K1 League, cumulative attendance was 1,506,529, an increase of 2.5% compared to the 1,469,703 cumulative attendees at the same point last season. Furthermore, by the end of Round 23 of the K2 League, cumulative attendance reached 536,408, a 78.7% increase from the 300,212 cumulative attendees at the same stage last season.
