On August 4, Atlético de Madrid officially announced that the club has signed Villarreal forward Alexander Sørloth, with a contract lasting four years. The transfer fee is expected to be 30 million euros.

The 28-year-old Sørloth made 41 appearances for Villarreal last season (34 starts), scoring 26 goals and providing six assists. Currently, the Norwegian’s market value is 25 million euros.
