Sanfrecce Hiroshima, a J.League club, officially announced that Kaisei Kawabe has returned to the team.

The 28-year-old midfielder Kaisei Kawabe joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima’s youth academy from a young age and made his debut for the first team at 18. He has made a total of 151 appearances for the team, scoring 9 goals and providing 15 assists.

In 2021, Kawabe chose to play overseas and joined Swiss Super League club Grasshoppers. Last season, he played for Standard Liège in the Belgian First Division A, making 37 appearances across all competitions and contributing with 7 goals and 9 assists.

According to media reports, Sanfrecce Hiroshima paid a transfer fee of up to 3.5 million euros to bring Kawabe back. He will also don the number 8 jersey once again to represent the team.
