On July 31, the Women’s Freestyle BMX Park final took place at the Paris Olympics, with Chinese athletes Deng Yawen and Sun Jiaqi competing.

The final featured nine athletes vying for the top spot, with two rounds of competition, where the higher score from either round would determine their ranking.

After the first round, Deng Yawen took the lead with a perfect performance scoring 92.50 points, while Sun Jiaqi unfortunately made a mistake and scored 70.80 points, placing her sixth.

In the second round, Sun Jiaqi, who was third from last to perform, was affected by an injury sustained from her mistake in the first round and made another unfortunate error, leaving her score at 70.80 points.

Before starting her second run, Deng Yawen had already secured at least a silver medal and was able to approach the competition with a relaxed mindset, flawlessly executing all her moves and increasing her score to 92.60 points.

The last competitor, American rider Roberts, was unable to post a higher score. Ultimately, Deng Yawen won China’s eighth gold medal of these Olympic Games, while Sun Jiaqi finished seventh.
