Goal Fest! Bayern Munich Starts Preseason with Dominant Win, Continues Habit Against Same Opponent

In their first preseason match of the new season, Bayern Munich began their campaign with a 14-goal victory. With Belgian Roberto Martínez taking over the team, Bayern has launched a revival plan following a season without winning the title.

In the transfer market, Bayern Munich also demonstrated their ambitions by signing several influential players. Michael Olise (€53 million), Palhinha (€51 million), and Yuki Itō (€23.5 million) were the club’s three major signings during the summer transfer window, and their arrivals have injected fresh energy into the squad.

Despite some players who participated in the European Championship not yet having returned to the team, Bayern Munich started their training camp and made their debut in the first preseason match. They chose to play against German lower-league side FC Rottach-Egern. In this match, Bayern fielded many reserve team players and achieved a resounding victory with a score of 14–1.

Notably, this is not the first time Bayern Munich has defeated FC Rottach-Egern with such a large goal difference. In 2023, they won 27–0; in 2019, they won 23–0; and in 2018, they won 20–2. Across these four matches, Bayern scored a total of 84 goals, a remarkable number that highlights the significant gap in quality between the two teams and reflects Bayern’s impressive attacking power from the outset of the season.

While the results of the preseason cannot fully represent performances in official matches, these high-scoring victories undoubtedly provide a positive start for the team. For Bayern Munich, the summer transfer activities combined with the excellent preseason performance suggest they will be going all out in the new season to reclaim lost honors.
