According to the British media outlet, The Daily Mail, Paraguayan butterfly swimmer Luana Alonso has been expelled from the Olympic Village due to wearing revealing attire and “distracting private contacts with teammates.”
The official statement from the Paraguayan national team reads:
Luana Alonso did not wear the required team uniform but instead chose overly revealing personal clothing;
Luana Alonso engaged in private interactions with other athletes, leading to a distraction of focus for herself and others;
Luana Alonso also sneaked out of the Olympic Village during competition times to visit Disneyland Paris.
It is worth noting that Luana Alonso was eliminated in the preliminary heats of the women’s 100-meter butterfly event at the Paris Olympics and subsequently announced her retirement.
