After a 2-2 preseason draw with Brest, Juventus coach Thiago Motta explained why several players were not included in the squad.
According to reports, Chiesa, Galler, and Cavalleri were not included because they have been placed on the transfer list, a stance that Motta confirmed.
Motta told Sky Sport Italia: “Chiesa is unavailable due to transfer reasons, as are the others who remain, aside from the injured Fabio Miretti.”
“We’ve been very clear with them. They are talented but must find other options to get more playing time. For Chiesa and the others, the decision has been made.”
While Galler and Cavalleri may be loaned out to gain experience, Chiesa’s contract expires in June 2025, so he must be sold this summer or risk losing him for free next year.
Juventus has therefore lowered its asking price to €20 million, but no club has shown particular interest in signing Chiesa. Liverpool, Napoli, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle United have all been linked with him, but no formal offers have been made.
