On August 5, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has agreed to join Atletico Madrid, and the transfer is expected to be completed soon.
The report states that Gallagher has already reached a verbal agreement with Atletico Madrid regarding his move, and the formal agreement is expected to be finalized today. The deal is soon to enter the “Here We Go” stage.
Atletico Madrid will pay Chelsea a transfer fee of €40 million for Gallagher and subsequently sign the English midfielder to a five-year contract.
Gallagher, currently 24 years old, came through Chelsea’s youth system and can play in various midfield positions. Previously, he was loaned out to clubs such as Charlton, Swansea, West Brom, and Crystal Palace for development.
