After winning the silver medal in the men’s team gymnastics event, Liu Yang’s mother, Yang Xiaoli, sent her son a message on WeChat, “Congratulations on winning the silver! You’re the best, keep going!” Liu Yang’s father, Liu Zhonghua, looked forward to his son returning home after the Olympics and planned to make his favorite three-treasure dumplings for him.
