On August 2nd, Arsenal academy graduate midfielder Smith Rowe officially announced his transfer to Fulham, bringing an end to his 14-year tenure at the club. Following this, he also posted a message on his personal social media account expressing his farewell and gratitude to his beloved Arsenal.
Smith Rowe wrote:
To the Arsenal Family,
I’m not sure how to begin; this is one of the hardest letters I have ever written to you.
I first signed for Arsenal when I was just 10 years old, a kid who never imagined that I would go on to make over 100 appearances for Arsenal and wear the iconic number 10 shirt.
I’ve been through so much here, meeting and playing with the best people, creating countless beautiful memories that I can’t even single out the best one.
I have so many people to thank, but what I want to say is thank you to every teammate over the years, every member of the coaching staff who has helped me, and especially to every fan who made Arsenal feel like home for such a long time.
Now I am ready for a new challenge, hungrier than ever, and I need to give myself the opportunity to take the next step.
Finally, I want to thank the Arsenal family once again, and I will always be grateful to you all.
