Sporting Director of Benfica: In Talks with Atlético Madrid for Félix’s Return

Félix was loaned to Barcelona by Atlético Madrid last season, but after the season ended, Barcelona did not opt to sign him permanently. However, he is clearly not part of Atlético’s plans for the new season, and his next destination is likely to be his parent club, Benfica.

In a recent interview with the Spanish media outlet Relevo, Benfica’s sporting director, Rui Costa, acknowledged that the team is in discussions with Atlético regarding Félix’s return. Rui Costa stated: “Negotiations (to sign Félix) are ongoing, but these matters should not be discussed publicly. What the team wants are good players, and if we can get players who understand Portuguese football, that’s even better. Many names have been mentioned on the club’s transfer list, but at this point, it’s all just speculation.”

Previously, Atlético had valued Félix at 80 million euros, but considering his current market value, Atlético may consider lowering their asking price if Benfica is willing to bring him back.
