July 25: The Mirror reports that after Gareth Southgate’s departure, Arsenal star Ben White may consider a return to the England national team.
The conflict between Ben White and the England national team arose during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. At that time, White had a disagreement with assistant coach Holland, following which he left the Three Lions and has not played for England since.
With Southgate’s departure, Holland will no longer serve as assistant coach for the England team. This opens up the possibility of White returning to the national side.
White is an indispensable player for Arsenal. In the 2023-24 season, he made 51 appearances for the Gunners, scoring four goals and providing five assists, making quite an impact. His absence from Euro 2024 was considered a significant loss for England.
Following their Euro 2024 campaign, England’s next match will be against Ireland in the Nations League on September 8. Thereafter, the Three Lions will officially enter the preparation phase for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
