Archery Men’s Individual – Final: Chinese Competitor Wang Yan Falls to South Korean Competitor Lee U Seok

On the afternoon of August 4th, in the Archery Men’s Individual Round of 1/8 Finals at the Paris Olympics, Chinese competitor Wang Yan faced off against South Korean competitor Lee U Seok. After four rounds of competition, Wang Yan lost 2-6 to his opponent, unfortunately ending his run in the Round of 16.

According to the Olympic archery format, the Round of 1/8 Finals is divided into five smaller rounds. In each round, both competitors shoot three arrows, and the total score is calculated from the combined points. At the end of each round, the competitor with the higher score receives 2 points; if the scores are equal, each competitor gets 1 point.

In the first round, both competitors shot their first arrows for 10 points. However, Lee U Seok followed up with two more 10-point shots, scoring 30 points and beating Wang Yan’s 29 points. Wang Yan lost the first round and was down 0-2.

In the second round, under pressure, Wang Yan tied with Lee U Seok at 29 points, and both competitors received 1 point. The overall score was Wang Yan 1-3 Lee U Seok.

In the third round, Lee U Seok performed exceptionally well, scoring 10 points with all three of his arrows, while Wang Yan scored 28 points. Lee U Seok led Wang Yan 5-1.

In the fourth round, both Wang Yan and Lee U Seok delivered outstanding performances, scoring 30 points each. Both competitors received one point, and ultimately, Lee U Seok defeated Wang Yan 6-2.
