July 24: Today, the International Equestrian Federation announced that British national dressage “queen” Charlotte Dujardin has been banned for six months due to horse abuse, which means she will not participate in this year’s Olympics.
It is understood that this equestrian athlete was forced to withdraw from the Olympics today. The reason is that the International Equestrian Federation received a video yesterday allegedly showing Dujardin abusing a horse and temporarily banned her for six months. The video was filmed four years ago and shows the 39-year-old rider repeatedly whipping the horse’s legs with a whip.
The identity of the mysterious complainant is currently unknown as the complaint was submitted by a Dutch lawyer on behalf of his client to the International Equestrian Federation. However, according to senior figures in British sport, the timing of the leak is not considered coincidental.
Dujardin has won a total of six Olympic gold medals in history. She could have surpassed British cyclist Laura Kenny to become the most successful British Olympian in terms of gold medals at this event, but this investigation has shattered her dream.
