July 22 – According to an official announcement by the French Football Federation, following the departure of Chelsea player Ugo Chukwu, Lyon midfielder Le Pennec has been added to the squad for this year’s Paris Olympic Games as a replacement.
It is reported that former Arsenal star Thierry Henry personally called to invite the 21-year-old youngster to join the team.
Le Pennec joined Lyon in 2022 and made six appearances last season (two starts). His current market value is €6 million according to Transfermarkt.
