According to a report in the China Sports Daily, the General Administration of Sport (GAS) has responded to the handling of an incident involving inappropriate remarks made by an official from one of its subordinate units on personal social media.

The report states that on August 6th, a relevant official from the GAS told reporters that recently there have been questions raised online about an official named Yuan (surname) from a subordinate unit of the GAS who posted inappropriate comments on his personal social media. The GAS has taken note of the situation and immediately initiated an investigation and response.

In addition, the report also mentions that the online space is not beyond the reach of the law. The GAS firmly implements the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, strictly manages and supervises the words and deeds of Party members and officials, and seriously investigates violations and illegal acts, showing no leniency.
