In the Men’s 20km Walk final at the Paris Olympics, Chinese athletes Zhang Jun, Li Yandong, and Wang Chaochao competed.
After 4km, Chinese athlete Zhang Jun was in 12th place, while Li Yandong and Wang Chaochao were in 41st and 42nd positions, respectively.
After 5km, Zhang Jun took the lead temporarily, with Li Yandong and Wang Chaochao in 42nd and 43rd positions. Subsequently, both Li Yandong and Wang Chaochao received a red card.
At the halfway point of 10km, Zhang Jun was in second place with a time of 40 minutes and 12 seconds. Li Yandong and Wang Chaochao were in 40th and 42nd positions.
After 15km, Zhang Jun was in sixth place, with the defending champion Italian athlete Stanzi in first. After 16km, Zhang Jun was in eighth position and received a red card.
After 18km, Ecuadorian athlete Pintado led the race, with Zhang Jun in eighth place. Li Yandong and Wang Chaochao were in 35th and 39th positions.
At the end of the race, Ecuadorian athlete Pintado won the gold medal with a time of 1:18:55, Brazil’s Bonfim claimed silver with 1:19:09, and the bronze went to Spain’s Álvaro Martín.
Chinese athlete Zhang Jun finished tenth with a time of 1:19:56, Li Yandong placed 31st with 1:22:46, and Wang Chaochao came in 36th with 1:23:40.
