Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, in an interview with The Telegraph, discussed how far the team is from winning Champions League and Premier League titles.
Rangnick was correct in saying that the club needed a treatment equivalent to open-heart surgery. “What Rangnick said was absolutely right. We’ve been working on it for two years now, but what he said is very accurate: it’s a thorough, very complex operation. I knew when I started that this would be a tough job.”
“We want this club to return to the state it was in over a decade ago, to become a club capable of winning the Premier League title and capable of winning the Champions League. I think we are still far from that goal.”
Ten Hag stated that he hopes Jadon Sancho can fulfill his talent and potential at Manchester United next season. “We had good talks. Everyone makes mistakes. If a player reflects well on it, then you draw a line and continue playing. This club needs top players, and one thing is certain: Sancho is a top player. I hope it will ultimately resonate and contribute to our success.”
