In the men’s 500m double canoe Olympic preliminaries, the Chinese duo of Liu Hao and Ji Bowen competed in the second heat.
Liu Hao and Ji Bowen delivered an outstanding performance, ranking first in their group with a time of 1:37.40, breaking the Olympic record (previously 1:38.65) and advancing successfully to the semifinals!
On the other side, Xu Shixiao and her partner Sun Mengya competed in the women’s 500m double canoe Olympic preliminaries. The pair clocked in at 1:54.45, also breaking the Olympic record (which they previously held themselves)! They advanced directly to the semifinals with a first-place finish in their group. Both the Chinese men’s and women’s teams broke Olympic records, setting high expectations for their future performances.
