After a lengthy negotiation process, Ten Hag has confirmed he will continue as Manchester United’s manager. Today, Manchester United Director Ashworth wrote in a column on the club’s official website about his expectations for the future following Ten Hag’s contract extension.
Ashworth wrote: “This is my first opportunity to speak to the fans since taking up the role of Director of Football on July 1st, and I am very happy to be here. With Auberada as CEO and Wilcox as Technical Director, I can assure you that we have hit the ground running.”
“The first major decision we made this summer was to extend Ten Hag’s contract as the first team head coach until June 2026, because he is a top coach, and I look forward to continuing our collaboration to help the team reach the desired level.”
“We all know that last season our performance in the league and Champions League fell short of expectations, but winning the FA Cup was impressive and demonstrated our capabilities. The new season brings changes to our squad, and the stadium renovation work has begun. We will start afresh for the new season. This is still one of the top clubs in the world, and our goal is to return to the ranks of the elite teams. We will keep working hard until we achieve this goal.”
