July 31 – According to transfer journalist Skyra, Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries is close to extending his contract with the club until June 2028. His new annual salary will be a base wage of €4 million plus bonus clauses. Further meetings are expected in the coming days to finalize the details of the extension.
There had been rumors that Premier League side Manchester United were interested in signing the Dutch defender. According to Skyra, both parties still need to hold talks to determine the final details of the renewal.
The 28-year-old Dumfries, who came through the youth ranks at Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam, has played for Heerenveen and PSV Eindhoven before joining Inter Milan in 2021 for a transfer fee of €14.2 million. Over three years, he has made 132 appearances for Inter Milan, scoring 11 goals and providing 20 assists. Currently, his market value is estimated at €24 million.
