Daily Sports: Barcelona Inform Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle of Raphinha's Price Tag

Catalan outlet Daily Sports reports that Barcelona has informed interested clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle, that they will open the door for Raphinha’s departure if a bid in the region of €50 million is received.

In July 2022, Barcelona signed the Brazilian star from the Premier League for a transfer fee of €58 million plus an additional €9 million in variables, following his impressive performances. However, over two seasons at Barcelona, Raphinha did not become the “decisive player” the club had hoped for. There is significant belief in England that Raphinha is interested in returning to the Premier League this summer.

According to Daily Sports, even Raphinha’s former agent, Deco, who is now Barcelona’s sporting director, cannot guarantee that the player will have a prominent role under new coach Flick – something Raphinha is very keen on. Raphinha’s contract with Barcelona runs until June 2027, with a buyout clause of €1 billion.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle have been keeping a close eye on Raphinha for some time, dating back to when he decided to leave Leeds United in the summer of 2022. Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United also have an interest, although it is not as strong. Barcelona has made it clear that a bid around the €50 million mark would open the door for Raphinha’s exit.

During his two seasons at Barcelona, Raphinha made 87 appearances, scoring 20 goals and providing 25 assists. Under Xavi, he won two titles (the 2022-23 Supercup and La Liga). Earlier, the Saudi league had approached Raphinha with a good offer, but the 27-year-old was not interested, as he still aims to perform at the highest level.
