According to Le Parisien, Achraf Hakimi will not follow in the footsteps of his friend Kylian Mbappé by transferring to Real Madrid this summer but instead will extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
There had been rumors that Hakimi might return to Real Madrid, and some reports even suggested that Mbappé explicitly asked Real Madrid to sign Hakimi back.
However, Le Parisien states that these rumors are untrue. Hakimi’s current contract with PSG is due to expire in 2026, but both parties have reached a preliminary agreement to extend the contract, pushing back the expiration date.
This summer, Hakimi will participate in the Olympics as an overage player for Morocco, which means he will enjoy a “home advantage” during the games.
