According to Japanese media, due to not receiving sufficient playing time at Genk, Naoki Kumada will terminate his loan spell and return to FC Tokyo.
In January this year, Naoki Kumada joined Genk on loan and played for the Genk B team in the Belgian Second Division. So far, Kumada has only made 9 appearances for the Genk B team, scoring one goal. As he did not get enough playing time abroad, Kumada, who was originally loaned out for a year, has decided to end his loan early and return to FC Tokyo.
Naoki Kumada is currently 20 years old and scored five goals in last year’s U20 Asian Cup, becoming the top scorer of the tournament. After being promoted to the first team of FC Tokyo in 2022, Kumada has only scored two goals for the team.
