On the morning of July 22, FC Barcelona officially announced that they have reached an agreement with B team head coach Rafa Márquez for an early termination of his contract. According to multiple media reports, Márquez is set to become the assistant coach for the Mexican national team.

FC Barcelona stated that the club has agreed with Rafa Márquez on the early termination of his contract, and he is about to take on a new challenge in his career.

Here, Barcelona would like to thank Márquez for his hard work during his time coaching the B team, where he had already become a key member for the club’s future development. The club wishes him all the best in both his sporting career and personal life going forward.

During his two seasons coaching Barcelona B, Rafa Márquez led the team in 82 matches, achieving 20 wins, 21 draws, and 21 losses. According to previous reports, Márquez will return to his home country and become the assistant coach for the Mexican national team, assisting them in their preparations for the 2026 North America World Cup.
