Simi Inzaghi: Inter Always Maintains a Hunger for Victory; We Don't Rely Excessively on Lautaro or Anyone Else

On August 25th, in the second round of Serie A, Inter Milan easily defeated Lecce with a score of 2-0. After the game, Inter’s head coach, Simi Inzaghi, praised his team, stating that the Nerazzurri always maintain a hunger for victory and that the team does not rely excessively on any individual player.

Simi Inzaghi first praised the team: “We always maintain a hunger for victory, this is unquestionable. The boys have performed very well on the field, including in the previous match against Genoa, even though we conceded two goals we shouldn’t have.”

In this match, Lautaro did not make it into the squad, and Simi Inzaghi explained: “On Friday morning, Lautaro felt pain upon waking up, so we, along with the medical team, decided not to risk him playing. After all, it’s only the beginning of the season, and we will strive to keep him in good condition for upcoming matches.”

Simi Inzaghi then emphasized that Inter does not rely excessively on any one player on the field: “We cannot overly depend on players like Lautaro, Barella, Calhanoglu, or anyone else. We won the Serie A title last season because all the players played crucial roles.”

Simi Inzaghi summarized Inter’s performance in the first two rounds: “We must focus on our own performance; our competitors have strengthened their squads. Playing in the hot month of August is always challenging, so there are no easy matches, even if our roster looks much stronger on paper than our opponents. We mustn’t be complacent. I believe the team has maintained focus in the first two rounds of matches.”
