Although the summer transfer window for the Premier League closed last Friday, Manchester United’s transfer activities have not yet fully concluded. Midfielder Christian Eriksen still has the possibility of leaving Old Trafford.
According to reports, Eriksen might be transferred to Anderlecht in Belgium. Despite Manchester United bringing in six new players this summer and seeing several departures, Eriksen does not seem to be part of head coach Ten Hag’s plans, so the club may allow him to leave. Anderlecht’s executive director Jesper Fredberg has shown significant interest in the Danish international who previously played for Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax. According to Het Nieuwsblad, Anderlecht’s interest in Eriksen has been ongoing for some time, but they may wait until just before the Belgian transfer window closes to make a move.
In the first two matches of the new Premier League season, the 32-year-old Eriksen did not start either game and could only watch from the bench as Manchester United’s performance was less than impressive. Although the English transfer window is now closed, the transfer markets in countries such as Belgium, Portugal, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia will remain open until September 6th, giving clubs in these countries more time to reach out to Eriksen.
