On August 18, the Indonesian Football Association officially confirmed the naturalization of Marten Pes, the goalkeeper currently playing for Major League Soccer’s FC Dallas. From now on, he can represent the Indonesian men’s national team in international matches.
Marten Pes is currently 26 years old and holds dual citizenship of Indonesia and the Netherlands. He is a goalkeeper standing at 192cm tall. His professional career started with the Dutch Eredivisie club NEC Nijmegen, and he is currently the starting goalkeeper for MLS’s FC Dallas.
The official FIFA authorities have approved Indonesia’s naturalization of Marten Pes, which means he will be eligible to play for the Indonesian national team in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers’ third round matches starting in September and subsequent games. On October 15, the Chinese men’s national team will also face off against Indonesia at their home ground in Qingdao.
