Slutsky: Shenhua’s Central Defenders Are Stronger Than All Russian Defenders, National Team Level Not Far Off from South Korea

On August 30, Shenhua’s head coach Leonid Slutsky recently gave an interview where he talked about the national team.

Slutsky stated: “Not long ago, the Russian Premier League announced the five fastest players, and Shenhua has at least five players who are as fast as them. Moreover, both my assistant Vasily and I believe that Shenhua’s two central defenders are stronger than all Russian defenders. Of course, in other positions, the level of Russian players is still higher. If China were to meet Russia in a match, Russia might be slightly stronger, but the difference is not significant, and I do not think the gap is visible to the naked eye. For example, the (football) level of China and South Korea is roughly the same.”
