According to The Athletic, Manchester City are considering the signing of Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi, who currently plays for Celtic.
The report states that Manchester City hope to bring in a new striker to replace the departing Alvarez. However, this new striker must accept a role as a “rotation player” after joining the team.
It is understood that Manchester City have drawn up a shortlist of candidates, which includes the name of Kyogo Furuhashi.
However, the current priority for Manchester City is still to sign Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer. After bringing back Gundogan, the club will then decide whether to bring in a new striker before the transfer window closes.
Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee revealed that Kyogo Furuhashi has successfully caught the attention of Manchester City, and personal terms will not pose any obstacles, as he himself hopes to join Manchester City.
