On August 24, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola attended the press conference ahead of the second round of the Premier League match against Ipswich Town.
About Gundogan
It’s a very pleasant surprise and somewhat unexpected, but it happened. I know him very well, not just me, but also the club staff and his teammates. He demonstrated consistently high standards and played many games last season at Barcelona. When the opportunity to bring him back arose, I didn’t hesitate for a moment. We are thrilled that he’s returning. Of course, he is no longer a young player, but our decision to re-sign him was based on his consistent performances in La Liga and European competitions. Returning to Manchester City, he won’t need any adjustment period; he knows what I expect and what he needs to do. If he is available to play, then yes, he will be playing tomorrow. Gundogan is not here to wind down his career; he’s here to perform at his best level. As for whether he will return to the five-man leadership group, I cannot say.
About Savio and Rodri
Savio is recovering well, while Rodri has not yet reached his best condition. They have only participated in parts of team training. There will be more training today and tomorrow, and we will make decisions then.
About Sterling
He is still a Chelsea player. I miss the times when Sterling played alongside us, and I wish him all the best.
About Potential Further Signings
I don’t know. I think not. I don’t know what might happen, such as injuries, which hopefully won’t occur, or if an unexpected option becomes financially viable or strategically necessary on the market. For now, I think not.
