Vini Jr and the Referee Clash: "Don't Talk to Me, Go Talk to the Captain"

In the match between Mallorca and Real Madrid, Vini Jr once again became the center of attention. Every time this Brazilian star touched the ball, he was met with boos from the Mallorca fans. Vini Jr even complained to the head referee, Cesar Soto Grado, that he could hear the fans’ reactions every time he touched the ball.

The incident originated from a tackle by Samu Costa, which caused Vini Jr to fall, but the referee ruled that Costa had indeed touched the ball and did not call a foul. From then on, every time Vini Jr touched the ball, he would be booed.

During the game, Vini Jr also complained to Mallorca’s head coach, Luis Garcia Plaza, saying that all the fans were booing him. As the game progressed, the boos from the fans subsided until just before halftime when Maffeo stepped on Vini Jr, which sparked controversy, and the referee showed a yellow card to Maffeo.

Notably, Vini Jr also had a conflict with the head referee. Vini Jr deliberately incited Real Madrid fans to confront the Mallorca fans on the sidelines, and head referee Soto Grado reprimanded him. However, Vini Jr responded, “Don’t talk to me, go talk to Dani (Carvajal),” implying that the referee should communicate with Real Madrid’s captain instead of targeting him personally.

Vini Jr has experienced similar situations in Mallorca before, especially with conflicts involving two Mallorca players, Maffeo and Raillo. Despite the tense atmosphere at the start of the match, Vini Jr remained very active and participated in Rodrigo’s goal, helping Real Madrid take the lead, although ultimately Real Madrid failed to secure the win.
