World Cup Qualifier Strong Match Valuation Comparison: Japan Leaps Ahead with €276 Million, National Team of China Only at €11 Million

On September 3rd, the national teams participating in the third stage of the World Cup Qualifiers’ top 18 matches announced their latest squad lists. In Group C where the Chinese men’s national team is located, the Japanese national team’s list of 27 players has a total valuation of €276 million, while the Chinese men’s national team’s 27 players have a total valuation of only €11 million, being surpassed by the Indonesian men’s national team (€16 million) which has introduced several naturalized players, ranking second to last in terms of team valuation within Group C.

2. Australia €41.86 million

3. Saudi Arabia €32.08 million

4. Indonesia €16 million

5. China €11 million

6. Bahrain €10 million

This includes Take Kubo (€50 million), Kaoru Mitoma (€45 million), Takumi Minamino (€20 million), and many other overseas-based players. Nine players in the Japanese team individually exceed the total valuation of the Chinese team, and eleven players individually exceed the total valuation of the Bahrain team. The highest-valued player in the Chinese national team is still forward Wu Lei, whose valuation is €1.2 million according to the latest statistics from Transfermarkt;

Among the six teams in the top 18 match Group C, only China and Bahrain do not have overseas-based players, and these two teams also have the lowest total valuations. The Japanese team has the most overseas-based players, with 20 out of the 27-player squad playing abroad, all in Europe, including 12 who play in Europe’s top five leagues.

On September 5th at 18:35, the Chinese men’s national team will face the strongest on-paper strength opponent, the Japanese men’s national team, away from home, marking their first match in the top 18 qualifiers.
