Casemiro’s Video of Leaving the Pitch After Being Substituted Is False, Ten Hag Denies

Erik ten Hag denied the rumors that Casemiro left Old Trafford before the end of the match where Manchester United lost 0-3 to Liverpool.

In the game against Liverpool, Casemiro made a critical error leading to the team conceding the first two goals. At the start of the second half, Ten Hag substituted Casemiro, bringing on the young player Toby Collier. Soon after, a video showing the Brazilian midfielder leaving the pitch during the game went viral on social media.

However, at the post-match press conference, Ten Hag stated: “I saw Casemiro in the locker room. Therefore, he did not leave Old Trafford at halftime. The substitution was a necessary move. We were trailing by two goals at the time and had to take some risks.”

The Dutch coach added: “He will continue to work hard to prepare for the next match. Casemiro has proven himself to be an excellent player many times over. During the 45 minutes he was on the pitch, Casemiro’s performance was subpar. His pass success rate was only 72%, he lost possession 13 times, was dribbled past twice, and made errors leading to two goals conceded. The data website rated Casemiro with a score of just 5.8, the lowest of the match.

Over the past two seasons, Casemiro has been the main culprit for defensive mistakes in Manchester United. Manchester United fans may eagerly anticipate the quick entry of Manuel Ugarte into the lineup, which could push Casemiro to the bench for the foreseeable future.
