According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s new midfielder Piotr Zielinski has suffered a muscle injury and will be out for three weeks.
Inter has faced an injury crisis during the pre-season preparations. In the past week, there have been three consecutive muscle injuries, affecting Marko Arnautovic, Mehdi Taremi, and Piotr Zielinski. Zielinski has a muscle injury in his left thigh rectus femoris and will be absent for at least three weeks, missing the first round of Serie A against Genoa.
Forwards Taremi and Arnautovic are expected to continue resting for two more weeks. Currently, Inter only has Lautaro Martinez and Eric Choupo-Moting available in attack, and Simone Inzaghi is considering pushing veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan forward to play as a striker.
