According to ESPN, US Women’s National Team (USWNT) legend Alex Morgan has announced via social media that she will retire at the end of this season. Her final match will take place on September 8th.
Statistics show that the 35-year-old Morgan has made 224 appearances for the USWNT, scoring 123 goals, making her the fifth-highest goal scorer in USWNT history.
During her time with the national team, she won two FIFA Women’s World Cup titles, one Olympic gold medal, one Olympic bronze medal, and three CONCACAF Women’s Championship titles, among other honors.
